How will laser treatment for incontinence work?

Laser treatment for incontinence is a new, revolutionary method that addresses problems with incontinence (urine leakage).

Incontinence is currently a relatively common condition worldwide, causing unimaginable psychological distress to those affected.

The cause of mild or moderate urine leakage (incontinence) in women is usually a weakening of the vaginal lining, most commonly caused by physical strain (such as a natural vaginal birth); however, childless women are not exempt from this condition.

Other causes of involuntary urine leakage include sedentary occupations, a genetic predisposition, ageing and loss of elasticity.

The procedure is carried out on an outpatient basis, is non-invasive and highly effective. Using a CO₂ gynaecological laser handpiece, the laser beam is directed through the vaginal wall to areas near the urethra and bladder.

The laser beam helps to stimulate the formation of new surrounding collagen tissue, thereby strengthening the bladder’s support structures, which in turn prevents involuntary urine leakage.

The procedure takes approximately half an hour, and there are no restrictions on subsequent activities, whether work-related or social.

Recovery following treatment for urinary incontinence

The results are visible straight away. Over the course of 1–3 months, collagen cells continue to grow.

This treatment for incontinence resolves involuntary urine leakage; furthermore, the patient experiences an enhancement of sexual pleasure through the strengthening of the pelvic floor and increased vaginal lubrication.

Following the procedure, the immune system in the vagina is strengthened, thereby eliminating yeast microorganisms, vaginal infections and inflammatory processes in the urinary tract.

We recommend abstaining from sexual intercourse for approximately 5 days and avoiding baths for 2 days. A follow-up appointment is recommended one month after the procedure. The procedure can be repeated if necessary.

Price List

The price of the treatment starts at 9,500 CZK per session; a package of three sessions costs 19,500 CZK.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure whether laser treatment for incontinence is right for you? We’d be happy to discuss everything with you during a face-to-face consultation.

Is there a difference between incontinence and stress incontinence?

Incontinence is a problem which, particularly in women, is caused by a weakening of the vaginal lining, for example as a result of a vaginal delivery.

Stress incontinence involves uncontrolled leakage of urine, most commonly when laughing, sneezing or during other types of exertion.

However, this unpleasant problem also affects childless women and older men.

Are there any preventative measures that can help prevent incontinence?

Regular pelvic floor exercises are an effective preventive measure. These exercises should be carried out consistently, particularly by women who have given birth vaginally.

The exercises are very simple and you can start doing them as soon as the six-week postnatal period is over.

What does the treatment feel like? Is it painful?

The procedure is carried out on an outpatient basis, without general anaesthesia; anaesthetic creams may be used for more sensitive patients.
